It's an exciting day for Ella - the "Cool Kids Robot Friends Society" has a meeting and a very special guest is expected. It's Axon - brilliant inventor of Abacus, the brain on legs! The tension is rising as Ella presides over the gathering, when suddenly she collapses. Is it because she's overwhelmed by the presence of Axon or because of her type 1 diabetes?
The Medikidz, a remarkable group of super-powered action heroes with attitude, are on hand to help Ella grasp what's going on! Pump, Chi, Skinderella, Gastro, Axon and Abacus take her on a tour of Mediland, a planet shaped just like the human body, and ensure that their particular brand of edutainment is always medically informative and straight to the point!
Along the way Ella will learn all about the importance of glucose and witness up-close the way in which the body converts it to energy. She sees battles between beta cells and immune system armies, and watches glucose and insulin hitting the clubs, as the Medikidz teach her everything she needs to know about her type 1 diabetes. Importantly, they will give her the essential knowledge about insulin that she needs in order to be in control of her condition.
