This diagnostic set includes Welch Allyn’s excellent PanOptic Ophthalmoscope, the benefits of which are highlighted below. The Welch Allyn 97104-PSM diagnostic set is supplied with a lithium ion rechargeable battery handle.
PanOptic Ophthalmoscope
- The 3.5v PanOptic Ophthalmoscope incorporates a patented Axial PointSource optical system. This system converges the light to a point at the cornea, allowing the practitioner easy entry in to small pupils. The illumination pathway then diverges to the retina, illuminating a very wide area of the fundus.
- Patient side eye cup to help the practitioner establish and maintain the correct viewing distance. While in contact with the patient, the eye cup blocks ambient light, eliminating interference from external light sources.
- Wide range of apertures covering all the practitioner’s basic needs:
- Small Aperture
- Large Aperture
- Micro Spot Aperture
- Slit Aperture
- Half-Moon Aperture
- Red-Free Filter
- Focusing range of -20 to +20 dioptres. The dynamic focusing wheel adjusts the focus in a continuous, smooth action for more precise control and optimum viewing.
- Rubber brow rest prevents the scratching of eye glasses
Otoscope
- Wide angled viewing lens for increased visibility under magnification.
- Uses both fibre optic technology and Halogen HPX illumination:
- Fibre optic light transmission provides a 360 degree ring of cool light with no specular reflection or visual obstruction.
- Halogen HPX lamp provides 30% more light output to aid the viewing of true tissue colour.
- Built-in throat illuminator/penlight. Simply detach the head for high intensity illumination.
- Sealed system for pneumatic otoscopy; ideal for examining tympanic membrane mobility.
