Why do we think paediatric pads are an essential tool to have as part of your first aid and AED kit? They enable your defibrillator to be used safely on a child if they suffer a sudden cardiac arrest and keep you rescue-ready at all times.
Once connected, paediatric pads ensure that the defibrillator supplies a reduced joule output to the patient, keeping the level of treatment to a suitable level for a child aged between 1 and 8 years old.
Pad features
- For use exclusively with the i-PAD NF1200 defibrillator
- Electrode pad life between up to 3 years
- Clear images on the electrode packaging ensure that no matter who the first responder is, they can quickly apply the electrodes in the right location on the body
- Sticky adhesive ensures that once the pads are placed on the patient, they will not move during treatment
- Paediatric pads ensure that a lower joule output is provided by the defibrillator
How to use
Once removed from their protective packaging and connected to the defibrillator prior to use, the AED will acknowledge the connection of the paediatric pads and automatically reduce the joule output to a level which is suitable to the heart of a child.
This ensures that the child receives expert medical attention following a cardiac arrest and is afforded the best chance of survival. The pads will analyse the heart and relay the information to the defibrillator where it will be determined if treatment is required.
