The 2007 NICE Guideline for the treatment of atopic eczema in children says that: 'emollients should form the basis of atopic eczema management and should always be used, even when the atopic eczema is clear. Emollients soothe and hydrate the skin, relieve the associated itching and help to restore the defective skin barrier. Emollients can also reduce the need for topical corticosteroid intervention and help to prevent flare ups.
The detergent Sodium Lauryl Sulphate (SLS), present in many other emollients is now recognised as a skin irritant but has been removed from Aquamax Cream.
Aquamax Cream is a new, longer lasting emollient specially formulated for softening, protecting and moisturising dry skin. Aquamax Cream is for use in eczema, psoriasis and other dry skin conditions. Aquamax Cream can be used all over the body and is suitable for all ages including babies. It may also be used during pregnancy and lactation. Aquamax Cream contains no colour, fragrance or lanolin and is also SLS free which can cause irritation and thinning of the skin. Used regularly Aquamax Cream will soften, protect and moisturise dry skin. Store below 25C. Do not use after the expiry date. Use within three months of initial opening of the product.
