The HCG Pregnancy Test Cassette is a rapid, one step test for the qualitative detection of human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) in urine, as an aid for the early detection of pregnancy. The test is intended for in vitro diagnostic self-testing.
The HCG Pregnancy Test Cassette utilizes a combination of antibodies including a monoclonal HCG antibody to selectively detect elevated levels of HCG. The assay is conducted by filling the urine specimen to sample well and observing the formation of red-coloured lines. The specimen migrates via capillary action along the membrane to react with the coloured conjugate. Positive specimens react with the specific antibody-HCG-coloured conjugate and form a red coloured line at the test line region of the membrane.
Pack of 25 cassettes
Contains:
- The HCG Pregnancy Test Cassette
- Dropper
- Desiccant
Testing:
Allow the test and the specimen to equilibrate to room temperature prior to testing.
- Specimen Collection:
A fresh urine specimen should be used, no special pre-treatment is necessary. Specimens should be collected in a clean, dry glass or plastic container. The specimen may be refrigerated (2-8°C) and stored up to 48 hours. - Testing:
Lay the device flat on table. Fill the urine dropper with urine and hold the dropper vertically to add 2-3 full drops of urine to sample well “S” as arrow indicated. - Test Results:
- Wait for red coloured bands to appear. The test should be read in approximately 5 minutes. Do not interpret results after 5 minutes.
Results:
Two red lines indelicate a positive result, a single line next to C indicates a negative result.
If only a single line shows next to P or there are no lines at all the test is invalid and must be done again.
